Aspiring to Pumpkin’s Love, the Love in My Heart is a series of three monumental painted-bronze sculptures by Yayoi Kusama, developed for David Zwirner. The works introduce an undulating, wall-like interpretation of Kusama’s iconic pumpkin motif, surrounding viewers with organic forms covered in her signature polka-dot patterns.

A significant part of my role focused on developing a method to accurately translate Kusama’s two-dimensional polka-dot compositions onto the sculptures’ complex three-dimensional surfaces. Dot layouts were developed digitally in Rhino and translated into full-scale vinyl stencils for fabrication. HoloLens 2 and Fologram were also used as augmented-reality tools to verify the position, scale, and alignment of the patterns directly against the full-scale sculptures.

<img width="1440" height="810" width_o="1440" height_o="810" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/3071bca012df1f0775e4c59d2ea5c476e130f127db9f8be0a17ccd14865b08d6/ykdz19show2023-533-install-v3-scale-3-jpg.jpg" data-mid="205493792" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/3071bca012df1f0775e4c59d2ea5c476e130f127db9f8be0a17ccd14865b08d6/ykdz19show2023-533-install-v3-scale-3-jpg.jpg" />

At UAP, I led the technical design and development of the sculptures, translating Kusama’s complex organic geometries into a fabrication and assembly strategy suitable for large-scale bronze production. This included developing the segmentation of the forms into castable components, resolving connections and assembly, and coordinating technical requirements throughout fabrication.

	The project combined digital modeling, traditional bronze fabrication, and augmented-reality workflows to develop precise technical solutions while maintaining the visual continuity and intent of Kusama’s work across a highly complex physical surface.

Abstract/Concrete is a 10-foot-tall public sculpture by artist Neil Hamamoto, developed as the first work in his word/PLAY series. The work explores the shifting relationship between language and meaning, contrasting the abstract realm of ideas, theories, and concepts with the physical world of making, material, and labor.

As Lead Designer and Project Manager, I led the technical development of the artwork from concept through fabrication and installation. My
role included 3D development, structural coordination, concrete and mold

design, fabrication oversight, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination
between the artist, engineers, fabricators, and project stakeholders.

<img width="1250" height="1434" width_o="1250" height_o="1434" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/3676e99d6297f3db6342e86c30a10989b9d89796a61789e909e4107af1934aca/Abstract-Sculpture-Neil-Hamamoto-Low-Res-JPEG-23.jpg" data-mid="251347719" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/3676e99d6297f3db6342e86c30a10989b9d89796a61789e909e4107af1934aca/Abstract-Sculpture-Neil-Hamamoto-Low-Res-JPEG-23.jpg" />

Fabricated from high-performance concrete (HPC) and steel, the sculpture was produced in Ontario, Canada by Spring Valley. At this scale, translating the artist’s concept into a structurally viable concrete object required close coordination between design, engineering, and fabrication.

The Liberty Portraits: A Monument to the 2024 Champions is a large-scale public artwork by LaToya Ruby Frazier celebrating the New York Liberty’s historic 2024 WNBA Championship. Unveiled on July 3, 2025, the installation occupied the plaza of Barclays Center in Brooklyn throughout the 2025 WNBA season. Commissioned by the Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation’s Social Justice Fund.

	Working with Kizy Art Productions, I served as Lead Designer and Project Manager, overseeing the technical development and realization of the installation from design through fabrication and installation. My role focused on translating the artist’s concept into a robust outdoor public artwork while preserving the scale, visual impact, and photographic integrity of the original vision.

<img width="1062" height="592" width_o="1062" height_o="592" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/1d9a9260e053f2c8f50eace042787f1856cf2c1de793ce9454a7ff86736376ec/lrf-3.png" data-mid="251347813" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/1d9a9260e053f2c8f50eace042787f1856cf2c1de793ce9454a7ff86736376ec/lrf-3.png" />

Referencing the heroic scale of the Statue of Liberty, the work consists of ten double-sided, nine-foot-tall illuminated portrait structures dedicated to the players of the championship roster. One side presents each athlete in uniform, while the reverse depicts the player alongside their chosen family, photographed by Frazier in locations personally significant to them. First-person testimonies from players and their loved ones accompany the portraits, extending the work beyond athletic achievement to explore family, community, female leadership, identity, and collective strength.

I led the design development of the custom double-sided display structures, coordinating engineering, fabrication, material selection, lighting integration, detailing, and production across project stakeholders and vendors. I also managed fabrication reviews, quality control, site and installation logistics, and the development of maintenance strategies required for the work to operate reliably in a high-traffic public environment throughout its exhibition.

While working at UAP NYC, I served as Lead Designer on Al Qalam: Poets in the Park, working closely with artist Sara Ouhaddou, the Washington Street Historical Society, the project commissioner, and the NYC Parks Department throughout a two-year design-assist process.Because a major subway hub sits beneath the park, the project also required a separate MTA approval process, adding another layer of technical and infrastructural coordination to the work.

My role focused on translating the artist’s vision into a technically resolved permanent public artwork while guiding the project through New York City’s approval processes. I led the technical design development and supported the preparation of drawings and specifications for reviews by NYC Parks, the Public Design Commission (PDC), and Community Board One, responding to agency markups, technical revisions, and RFIs throughout the process.

Utilising an abstract alphabet developed by the artist, the artwork combines Arabic script with Islamic geometric patterns to creat e a symbolic visual language. Across shimmering gold mosaic surfaces, the names and words of poets connected to the neighbourhood emerge through these forms, creating a lasting tribute to language, migration, and cultural memory.

This permanent public artwork honours the literary and cultural history of Little Syria, home to the United States’ first Arabic-speaking community between 1880 and 1940. It features a stylised sculpture of the Arabic word Al-Qalam (The Pen), measuring approximately 18 feet long, alongside two mosaic-inlaid bench backs, representing lines of poetry penned by nine poets associated with Little Syria. The work is made from aluminium with inlaid glass mosaic.

The Hyperbole Aluminum side table is recyclable, durable and locally sourced in Quebec.&nbsp;

Aluminium is infinitely recyclable, durable and a large natural resource in Quebec. It is composed of 3 laser cut parts, a cost and labour effective method of fabrication. Its flat pack design reduces packaging waste and cost whilst optimizing transportation. It requires no hardware to assemble.
&nbsp;

The spirit of this project is to honor each participant, not only the end user, but the designer, fabricators, shippers and environment by faciliating each of their respective experiences.

	Part of Rebecca’s personal work, Eclipse&nbsp;is an ambient lamp whose light intensity is controlled simply by rotating its face. The project explores how analog principles can create an effect that feels almost supernatural.

This piece reflects her fascination with fundamental principles of physics and their ability to inspire wonder. It is a reminder that technology doesn't need to be complex to feel magical. Sometimes, the simplest mechanisms create the most extraordinary experiences.

The lamp's face is composed of two layers of acrylic and polarized film that, depending on their alignment, either allow light to pass through or block it completely. A softly glowing halo remains visible around the perimeter thanks to a translucent, biodegradable 3D-printed structure, creating the illusion that the object is illuminated from within.

The classic button-down shirt is a century-old design that has become so familiar it is rarely questioned. A universal uniform hiding in plain sight, it has remained virtually unchanged since the Industrial Revolution, carrying an authority that often escapes scrutiny.

	<img width="5707" height="7610" width_o="5707" height_o="7610" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/b343636cfa5b051cd8cdd8a9b402b3a91a9ac96661d27ce85b3b315b5c64bda8/251215_Rebecca0013.jpg" data-mid="251002865" border="0" src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/b343636cfa5b051cd8cdd8a9b402b3a91a9ac96661d27ce85b3b315b5c64bda8/251215_Rebecca0013.jpg" />

Presented as a neutral and timeless garment, the button-down quietly functions as a powerful social code. It signals cleanliness, discipline, professionalism, and respectability while subtly reinforcing broader systems of class, labor, and conformity. Its apparent universality conceals the cultural and historical values embedded within its design.

This work marks the beginning of an ongoing investigation into everyday objects whose familiarity renders them almost invisible. By isolating and reinterpreting the button-down shirt, the piece reveals how design shapes behavior and identity, inviting viewers to reconsider an object that has long been accepted as self-evident.

	Sphere Packing: Bach is a spherical room 3 metres in diameter which has 1,128 loudspeakers, each of which plays a different composition by Johann Sebastian Bach. All of the speakers are pointed at the centre of the room and they fire the totality of his life’s work onto the public.

	This piece premiered as a part of Lozano-Hemmer’s show “Unstable Presence” the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montréal (MAC) in 2018. It has since been shown at MARCO in Monterrey, MX in 2019 and at SFMOMA in 2020.
