Eclipse

Eclipse is an ambient lamp whose light intensity is controlled simply by rotating its face. The project explores how analog principles can create an effect that feels almost supernatural.

The lamp's face is composed of two layers of acrylic and polarized film that, depending on their alignment, either allow light to pass through or block it completely. A softly glowing halo remains visible around the perimeter thanks to a translucent, biodegradable 3D-printed structure, creating the illusion that the object is illuminated from within.

Eclipse reflects Rebecca’s fascination with fundamental principles of physics and their ability to inspire wonder. It is a reminder that technology doesn't need to be complex to feel magical. Sometimes, the simplest mechanisms create the most extraordinary experiences.
